Last Day in Atuona

Well, this place is nice, tropical, warm, lots of fresh water, rains every day, but the anchorage is very swell infested and a long way from town. Town is a really sleepy place, I don't know if they even have a bar, I haven't seen one yet. Actually I did go to a very swank bar up on the hillside, we got invited up there by a visiting French 'Patron', so he bought a bottle of wine. I went to church on Sunday morning and was befriended by a young couple with an 8 month old baby, and the 'Patron' was at church as well and he invited us all up for a drink that evening. But there was only a bunch of American old tourists there and we left after a single bottle of rouge. The baby was fussing and they were my ride to town and I really wasn't into staying with such a dreary crowd. Good thing too, cause next morning I had a splitting headache, I think that I'm allergic to french red, I don't seem to get so big a headache with Californian or Australian.
It's pretty boring and lonely cruising around Paradise by yourself though. I like the sailing part, I had a great time coming here, but exploring lonely deserted anchorages, kind of boring. I hope to find some crew member in Nuku Hiva that can help me get through the Tuamotos Archipelago and onward to Tahiti.
