The Great Potato Cannon Adventure

In July 2004, the kids and I went on a road trip and visited my old buddy Patrick at Crawford Bay on Kootenay Lake. His son Andre had built several potato cannons, using designs from a book on potato cannons. The kids really enjoyed firing potatoes several hundred feet out into the bay, and upon our return to Victoria, Katherine immediately set about finding the potato cannon book, and within several days, had built her very own potato cannon.

The City of Victoria is not the best place for firing potato cannons, so we headed back on the road, this time to Schooner Cove where we boarded Island Prism, cannon and potatoes in hand.
